EchoStar (parent company of DISH TV, Sling TV, Boost Mobile, Hughes, and Gen Mobile) hires remote Inside Sales & Retention representatives who handle 100% inbound calls with new and existing customers.

What EchoStar actually says

“Dedicated home workspace with wired internet (25 Mbps download / 2 Mbps upload), USB keyboard/mouse/headset/webcam, and two 19"+ monitors. All costs to meet and maintain these requirements are the employee’s responsibility and are not reimbursed by DISH, except where required by law.”— Built In — EchoStar Remote Retention Representative posting · source

EchoStar is the parent company that owns DISH Network, Hughes, Sling TV, Boost Mobile, and Gen Mobile; this posting is for EchoStar’s own inside sales/retention team rather than DISH TV customer service specifically.

What passes for EchoStar

A wired connection — fiber, cable, or DSL — with an Ethernet cable from your computer to the router. Fiber is the strongest fit: upload speed matches download, latency stays low and consistent, and weather doesn't affect it.

If you're on satellite, a cellular hotspot, or 5G home internet, no speed test will get you past EchoStar's rule — the connection type is what's being checked. The fix is a wired line, installed with the Ethernet connection in the room where you'll work.

Before your EchoStar tech check

  1. Confirm a wired provider reaches your address.
  2. Run Ethernet to your workspace — not just to the router's room.
  3. Turn off Wi-Fi and any VPN on the work computer.
  4. Run a speed test on the wired line (target: at least 25 Mbps down / 2 Mbps up) and screenshot it.

EchoStar internet questions, answered

EchoStar permits Wi-Fi on some programs, but the connectivity scan during onboarding is run on a wired connection. Plan for Ethernet at the desk.

At least 25 Mbps download and 2 Mbps upload. The exact minimum can vary by client program, so confirm against the job listing you are applying to.

EchoStar does not publish a blanket exclusion on satellite, but the speed and latency minimums still apply and satellite often fails the latency test.

EchoStar does not name hotspots as prohibited, but cellular service shares tower capacity and is a common cause of a failed connectivity scan.
